Saddletank Books is an independent British publisher with a small range of books about railways. Our books are based on true historical stories involving this country's railway heritage. Our books are always printed in Britain and we wish to celebrate Britain's railway heritage and encourage the next generation of railway enthusiasts to show interest and become involved with any one of the many activities it offers.
We're happy to liaise with schools and local railway groups to promote understanding of local history and interest in mechanical and industrial engineering.
Our first book is the true story of Alice, a Quarry Hunslet locomotive who worked for sixty years in the mountains of North Wales at Dinorwic Quarry, one of the largest slate quarries in the world.
With full colour illustrations on every page and a map to follow the route that the engines take, these 1,000 word picture books for the very young, make great bedtime reading!
